Hi! I’m Emmalyn, and this is my blog.
I started this blog because I noticed a trend: every time I turned on the news, it was guaranteed there would be depressing, sometimes devastating stories. We all know the saying: “If it bleeds, it leads.” In my day to day as a News Reporter, I myself cover many of these tragic stories far more often than many of us would like to. Believe it or not, some days we find them just as hard to tell as they can be for you to hear-but as journalists, we believe that you deserve to know what’s going on around you and happy or sad, it is our job to share that story with the communities in which we represent.
Fortunately, there are many stories I’ve had the pleasure of telling which showcase a small part of the good going on in this world; happy stories highlighting charities and foundations right in our backyards doing GREAT things. Quite frankly, I don’t think we hear enough of those, so I decided to start my own blog not just to recognize those among us doing so much good work, but also provide a feed packed with one type of story: the happy ones!
If you know of a charity or fundraising event that would make for a great story, feel free to contact Emmalyn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
